Have you ever thought about...

I made this child's owl hat this week when asked by a friend who wanted one for her daughter for Christmas. I think it's so adorable; I'm going to make more.

My friend Dawn came over this morning, and when I showed her the hat, she asked if I'd ever thought about selling my crochet. She encouraged me more in the thought by saying that if she doesn't know how to do or make something, she is willing to pay someone who does for their quality work.

Thought provoking...

Glamorous Crochet

Annah went to her homecoming dance today.

I had fun this week making her a little Evening Glitter clutch to carry her phone and lipstick with her.

I used Lion Brand Vanna's Glamour in Platinum, and it was really nice to work with.  Annah and I both really liked the shimmer of it.

I also made her a wrap (Elise Shawl) to keep her warm, because I figured it would be chilly going to and from the dance on a late September evening.  It was 85 degrees when she left, and still 70 degrees when she came home.  But we took pictures, and I'm sure she will have opportunity to wear it in the future.

Shawl In A Ball Pineapple Shawls

I've been wanting to try Lion Brand's Shawl In A Ball, and picked up a couple colors last week.  This one is called Community Coral, and I think it is just gorgeous. I love working with variegated fibers of any kind.  It's so exciting to see the colors change as it works up!

This color is called Calming Desert.  Both projects are the Lacy Pineapple Shawl pattern by Marly Bird.  The Community Coral I made with one skein, so it is smaller and more scarf-like.  The Calming Desert I used 2 skeins, so it is a really big shawl that can cover the arms.

I really enjoyed working with this yarn and this pattern.

Cozy Shrug

Sylvia saw me looking at patterns one day recently, and asked if I would make her the Simple Crochet Shrug in a light neutral color so she can wear it with anything anytime she gets cold.  We bought some Lion Brand Homespun in the color Pearls.  It's not a very exciting pattern to work on, since it's straight rows of all one stitch, but I think it will be pretty and very cozy when it's done, and she will love wearing it.  This is a project I will carry in the car with me to work on over time while I'm waiting on the kids at various places.

Filling up a bucket

For about 5 months, I've been crocheting projects that just seemed like they would be fun to make...new stitches or patterns to try, challenges that help me feel accomplished when I finish them. I have a bin full now. I'm thinking about re-starting a crochet business.
